When considering installation of a grain bin, the National Electric Safety Code requires varying clearances for grain bins away from power lines.  BEFORE you install a grain bin on your property, please contact our Engineering department and schedule a free appointment with one of our staking engineers.  Our staking engineer will plan a visit to your property and can help you plan where to place your grain bin properly away from electric lines. 

It’s very important to note that if you construct a grain bin too close to electric lines, Taylor County RECC will not be able to energize your grain bin and you may be required to pay to have the lines moved to meet National Electric Safety Code.
